uncovering our unbelief

“So He was not able to do any miracles there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them. And He was amazed at their unbelief.” – Mark 6:5

And I marvel at the power of unbelief, to be able to hinder the miracles of God. To my knowledge, scripture mentions nothing else that causes God to be “not able”.

Since this is the case, that God was not able to work miracles because of unbelief, then had we not ought to examine ourselves? Would it not be good for us to look at our lives with a critical eye, looking for every area of unbelief? Should we not turn over every stone, so to speak, to uncover every miracle hindering ounce of mistrust in God?

I don’t believe that every illness, financial crisis, job loss, etc., is due to unbelief. God works things according to His plans and purposes. But I do believe His Word is true, and His Word clearly indicates that His power is hindered in our lives by unbelief.

I want every miracle that God wants to perform in my life. I want all the power He is willing to unleash over me. But that means I must be willing to brutally confront my unbelief.

  1. Karla, maybe Jesus is telling you to take the experiences and talents that you have developed at this place, And take them to a bigger audience with more impact. Your season here may be over and he feels that you are ready to do more. My prayers and love are with you
