Declaration & Praise: Day 3

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.” – Ephesians 1:1
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!” – 1 John 3:1

I abound in grace, am lavished with love, and have been given every spiritual blessing in heavenly places. You are able to do far more abundantly than all that I ask of You. You have supply for my every need, more than enough strength for my weakness, and peace for my troubled heart.

You give hope when I feel hopeless, and courage when I feel afraid. When the way in front of me looks dark, You give Your Word to light up my steps. And when I was utterly lost, You gave Your Son for my salvation. You are the giver of every good thing.

You give me the power to walk where You have called me, and boldness to keep walking it out even in the face of opposition. You have equipped me for every battle, and every victory comes from You.

You are an open handed God, and Your every promise is yes and amen.

Today, I will refuse to believe that You withhold from me, or that You are anything but generously good to me. I will refuse to allow fear and anxiety over my future rule my heart today, for You have given me my days, and will provide for each one.

Today, I will live an open handed life. I will not cling to what is mine, but will give out from the abundance I have been given. I will not withhold love, mercy, or time. I will not invest in myself more than I invest in others. I will be a lavish giver of all You have given to me.

You are a good, good Father, and I will seek to ever praise You with the way that I live my life.

Declaration & Praise: Day 2

“Who then is able to stand against Me? Who has a claim against Me that I must pay? Everything under heaven belongs to Me.” – Job 41:11
“Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.” – Revelation 4:11

There is none greater than You! You alone own the heavens and everything under it. Your throne cannot be challenged, Your authority cannot be undone, for You alone are God. You will always have the victory in any battle, You will always have the final Word.

All of life is from You and for You. I have breath because You breathed life into me, and it is by Your will alone that I take my next breath. Life is found in no one else but You.

And no one other than You is worthy of my praise. All glory. All honor. All power. It is all owed to You alone, for You alone created heaven and earth and all that is within them.

My life is in You and belongs to You. Because of You I have been forgiven and redeemed. Because of You I have been made new, and am now free of all condemnation, free of the chains of sin and death that once had me bound. Because of You, I have eternal life.

Today, I will give thanks, You owed me nothing, but You have given me everything. How great Thou art!

Declaration & Praise: Day 1

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” – Genesis 1:1

“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” – Revelation 22:13

It begins with You, God, and it will end with You. You stood at the first, and You will be standing at the finish. Before I was, You were, and when it’s over, it will be You that I see, You that I stand before, You that I will worship.

I praise You, creator God, for all that Your hands have made, and I echo Your “it is good”. Beauty is from Your hand, poured out on us. Everywhere I look I can see Your creation shouting Your existence and Your goodness.

Colors, fragrance, brilliance, flashes of light, rolling thunderous sounds, the spray of salt water, the babble of every stream, stars that blaze across a midnight sky, the trumpeting of the elephant and the silent spinning of webs, and the people of every tribe and tongue – it’s all by You, through You and for You and the evidence of You.

Today, I will open my eyes to You. Creator. Good. First and Last and always. I worship You today.

Forty Days of Praying the Word of God: Day 40

“When Solomon finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple.”

2 Chronicles 7:1

Father, I lay my life on Your altar as an offering to You. May every agenda, every desire, every option I have be laid down to be consumed by You. I pray that in every way I will acknowledge that I am Yours alone, and will love and serve You alone.

I pray for fire – a fire that consumes and a fire that cleanses. Come like fire upon my heart, Lord, and let Your glory fill me! I pray that every bit of dross will be consumed by Your holiness and Your love taking up all of the space in my heart.

“Is not my word like fire,” declares the Lord, “and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?”

Jeremiah 23:29

Bring Your Word like a fire in my bones, Lord. I pray it will burn within me, consuming every lie that still has life in me. I pray that every hard place in me will break as truth falls on my heart. Father, I’m asking for You to pour out Your Spirit in me, and let it purify and satisfy me. I ask for a fresh baptism of Spirit and fire for the days ahead, Lord. (Luke 3:16)

Fill me, God. Fill my mouth with Your Word, fill my heart with Your love and compassion, fill my life with Your goodness. Turn every dry place, every desert in my life into pools of living water, and satisfy my every thirst. As Your unfailing love fills the earth, let it fill me to overflowing, Lord. I pray that love will pour forth from a heart that has been emptied of self, refined by fire, and filled with an unearthly love. (Psalm 81:10, 103:5, 107:9, 119:64)

Come Lord Jesus. Your will be done on earth and in me, as it is in heaven.

In Your mighty Name I pray. Amen.

Forty Days of Praying the Word of God: Day 39

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Acts 1:8

Lord, we need Your Spirit to come upon us today. I pray for a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit over, in, and through Your Church in this generation. I pray we will stop being witnesses to what the world is doing around us, and will instead become Your witnesses, in our own nation and to the ends of the earth. I pray that we will stop talking about what politicians are doing and begin to speak of what You are doing in the earth right now. I pray for those of us who feel powerless, to receive afresh the power of the Holy Spirit to proclaim Your truth.

I pray that as Your Church seeks You in this hour, You will begin to shake the room and fill us afresh with Your Spirit, Lord. And I pray we will then have courage and boldness to proclaim Your name to the nations. That we will speak Your truth, and tell of Your awesome power and Your wonderous deeds. I pray that, under the power of Your Spirit, Your Word will go forth, running swiftly through the streets of our nation, compelling hearts to turn from darkness to light.

Father, I pray for the power of Your Holy Spirit to fill our pulpits and our homes. I pray that every crooked place would be made straight, everything hidden will be brought to light, and that Your Church would walk and talk as those baptized into Your death, and raised up to Your life, holy and clothed in the righteousness of Christ.

Lord Jesus, I am asking that You breath upon Your Church again, filling us with Your Holy Spirit and power. Renew us, refresh us, and fill our cups again. Holy Spirit, teach us, remind us, and point us toward home, toward the throne of our Father.

Empty us of ourselves, and fill us with Yourself.

In the Name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Forty Days of Praying the Word of God: Day 38

Do not be yoked together with those who do not believe. For what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness? What agreement does Christ have with Belial? For what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?”

2 Corinthians 6:14-15

Lord, I pray for an increase in our obedience to Your whole word, including in the area of our alliances, partnerships, and marriages.

I pray that we will stop seeking common ground, and yoking ourselves with unbelievers. May we stop trying to partner righteousness with unrighteousness. I pray that we will be a people who set themselves apart, not as better than, but as different from. May every relationship we have with those in the world be redemptive, and gospel driven.

I pray we will be in the world, but not of it. That we will not allow ourselves to become conformed to the systems and ideologies of this world, but will continually seek transformation through the renewing of our minds by Your word. (Romans 12)

I pray that we will not compromise in order to keep from being hated by this world, but that we will rejoice in being identified with our Savior, who was hated first. May the love of God being poured out through us have priority over the approval of man being poured out on us. (Matthew 5; John 15)

I pray that nothing the world offers us will entice us, but that we will find all we need in You. May we find life and joy in You alone. (Psalm 16; John 10)

I pray that more and more, You will have a set apart people for Your own, a holy people that You have called out of the world, rescued from the dominion of darkness and brought into the Kingdom of Your Son. A people who love You and who love the people of this world as You do, but who have come out from among them. And from that love, may we go back out into the world to give them the good news of Your love and redemption.

In the Name of Jesus. Amen.

Forty Days of Praying the Word of God: Day 37

“And a woman in the town who was a sinner found out that Jesus was reclining at the table in the Pharisee’s house. She brought an alabaster jar of fragrant oil and stood behind Him at His feet, weeping, and began to wash His feet with her tears. She wiped His feet with the hair of her head, kissing them and anointing them with the fragrant oil…

…When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would know who is touching him and what kind of woman she is—that she is a sinner…

…Therefore I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven; that’s why she loved much. But the one who is forgiven little, loves little.”

Luke 7:37-38, 47

Lord, You are so worthy of every last drop of us, every bit of our worship, all of our adoration.

I pray that, with full abandon, disregarding reputation and audience, I will love You with all that I am. I pray that nothing will be too costly to pour out for You and that I will gladly let the world watch my devotion to You. I pray that mine will never be a hidden love, and that I will never hold back because of who is listening and watching. I pray that I will always be willing to push past shame, push past what others think, to make my way to the feet of my Savior and love Him much.

Father, may the Church become abandoned to You. I pray that You will draw us back to this kind of love, to be a people that weep over You. A people pouring out all they have over You, because You are worthy of everything. Worthy of nothing held back.

Open our eyes again, Lord, to the truth that we have been forgiven much. May our sins never be disregarded, seen as little that we have been forgiven. Oh Lord, remind us again and again that we are the woman with the alabaster jar, sinners forgiven much.

May we love You like that, Lord. Emptied of pride, emptied of self. Risking scorn and disapproval. Our grateful hearts on full display as we pour ourselves out on You.

May we love much.
