Declaration & Praise: Day 6

“Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” – Matthew 19:26
“Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” – John 11:40

Today I will believe You for what looks impossible to me.

I believe You for relational restoration.

I believe You for the renewal of minds.

I believe You for hope.

I believe You for flames to be fanned, for eyes to open, for hearts to turn.

I believe You for the healing of every wound.

I believe You for the revival of dry bones.

I believe You for the breaking of strongholds.

I believe that Your Truth will overtake and demolish every lie.

I believe You for unity in Your Church and in my home.

I believe You for holiness in Your Church, and in my heart.

I believe You for justice and revival to sweep across our land.

I believe that You can awaken us, bring us to our feet with a fresh breath of Your Spirit, and set fire to lukewarm hearts. That You can bring forth an army from a valley of dry bones.

Today, I believe You for impossible things, because You are the God of the impossible.

Today, I believe You, and I will see Your glory.

Declaration & Praise: Day 5

“God is not man, that He should lie, or a son of man, that He should change His mind. Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not fulfill it?” – Numbers 23:19
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” – Lamentations 3:22-23

Lord, You are not like me. You are other than, beyond me, and yet, with me. There is no darkness within You that would provoke You to lie, deceive, trick me. You say what You mean and You mean what You say, and what You say is what You will always do. Because You are faithful.

You are faithful to love me to the end, no matter what. Faithful to extend mercy, not once, not twice, but every single day. Every day I wake up to Your mercy. Every day I live and breathe and love because You have mercy on me. Because You are merciful, I have been born again. In Your mercy, You stay near and not far off.

Your faithfulness to me is not in response to my faithfulness to You, it is who You are. If I turn out to be faithless, You will remain faithful. You will not turn from me, write me off, or un-choose me. You are not fickle toward me, but utterly faithful to Your commitment to be for me and not against me.

Every word, every plan, every promise will be fulfilled, because You are faithful.

Today, I will refuse to believe that You are like us. I will not wonder if You will say one thing but do another. I will not allow an expectation to grow in me that You will turn against me, forget me, or leave me hanging. I will choose today, to believe You, to take You at Your word that great is Your faithfulness. Today, I will remember that You are faithful, loving, merciful and true. To me.

Declaration & Praise: Day 3

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.” – Ephesians 1:1
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!” – 1 John 3:1

I abound in grace, am lavished with love, and have been given every spiritual blessing in heavenly places. You are able to do far more abundantly than all that I ask of You. You have supply for my every need, more than enough strength for my weakness, and peace for my troubled heart.

You give hope when I feel hopeless, and courage when I feel afraid. When the way in front of me looks dark, You give Your Word to light up my steps. And when I was utterly lost, You gave Your Son for my salvation. You are the giver of every good thing.

You give me the power to walk where You have called me, and boldness to keep walking it out even in the face of opposition. You have equipped me for every battle, and every victory comes from You.

You are an open handed God, and Your every promise is yes and amen.

Today, I will refuse to believe that You withhold from me, or that You are anything but generously good to me. I will refuse to allow fear and anxiety over my future rule my heart today, for You have given me my days, and will provide for each one.

Today, I will live an open handed life. I will not cling to what is mine, but will give out from the abundance I have been given. I will not withhold love, mercy, or time. I will not invest in myself more than I invest in others. I will be a lavish giver of all You have given to me.

You are a good, good Father, and I will seek to ever praise You with the way that I live my life.

Declaration & Praise: Day 2

“Who then is able to stand against Me? Who has a claim against Me that I must pay? Everything under heaven belongs to Me.” – Job 41:11
“Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.” – Revelation 4:11

There is none greater than You! You alone own the heavens and everything under it. Your throne cannot be challenged, Your authority cannot be undone, for You alone are God. You will always have the victory in any battle, You will always have the final Word.

All of life is from You and for You. I have breath because You breathed life into me, and it is by Your will alone that I take my next breath. Life is found in no one else but You.

And no one other than You is worthy of my praise. All glory. All honor. All power. It is all owed to You alone, for You alone created heaven and earth and all that is within them.

My life is in You and belongs to You. Because of You I have been forgiven and redeemed. Because of You I have been made new, and am now free of all condemnation, free of the chains of sin and death that once had me bound. Because of You, I have eternal life.

Today, I will give thanks, You owed me nothing, but You have given me everything. How great Thou art!

Declaration & Praise: Day 1

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” – Genesis 1:1

“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” – Revelation 22:13

It begins with You, God, and it will end with You. You stood at the first, and You will be standing at the finish. Before I was, You were, and when it’s over, it will be You that I see, You that I stand before, You that I will worship.

I praise You, creator God, for all that Your hands have made, and I echo Your “it is good”. Beauty is from Your hand, poured out on us. Everywhere I look I can see Your creation shouting Your existence and Your goodness.

Colors, fragrance, brilliance, flashes of light, rolling thunderous sounds, the spray of salt water, the babble of every stream, stars that blaze across a midnight sky, the trumpeting of the elephant and the silent spinning of webs, and the people of every tribe and tongue – it’s all by You, through You and for You and the evidence of You.

Today, I will open my eyes to You. Creator. Good. First and Last and always. I worship You today.

Forty Days of Praying the Word of God: Day 29

“We will not hide them from their children, but will tell a future generation the praiseworthy acts of the Lord, His might, and the wondrous works He has performed.”

Psalm 78:4

Father, I pray that we will not keep Your wonders to ourselves, but that we will share them with our children. I pray that the next generation will know what You have done. I pray they will know Your power and Your great love, because we have told them of all of Your goodness toward us.

“so that a future generation—children yet to be born—might know. They were to rise and tell their children so that they might put their confidence in God and not forget God’s works, but keep His commands.”

Psalm 78:6-7

Lord, I pray that our children and our grandchildren, the generations of those faithful to You, will put their confidence in You and walk in Your ways, because they have been told of Your wonders, Your goodness, and Your sovereignty.

Make us Your storytellers, Lord. May we tell Your story more than we tell our own. May it be the wonders, and the exploits of You that we pass on. I pray that we will be a people who proclaim all that You have done, more than we tell of all that we have done.

I pray that our children will know how You saved us and how You have loved us. I pray they will know how You have forgiven our sins, and why. I pray they will hear of how You calmed our storms, delivered us from oppression, and brought us out of slavery. I pray that our children and their children will know of Your great mercies and the power of Your presence.

I pray they will know, because we have told them. And I pray they will then know for themselves, and tell their own children. May we pass on the stories of You from one generation to the next. I pray that we will repeat Your Words to our children, talking about them in our homes, and wherever we go, when we lie down at night, and when we get up in the morning. (Deuteronomy 6:7)

From one generation to the next, Lord, may You be known!

In the Name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Forty Days of Praying the Word of God: Day 8

God is not man, that He should lie, or a son of man, that He should change His mind. Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not fulfill it?”

Numbers 23:19

“Your word, Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens. Your faithfulness continues through all generations;”

Psalm 119:89-90

Father, I know that You are faithful. Faithful to Your Word, faithful to me. Faithful to my family and my marriage. Faithful to Your Church. Thank You God, for such steadfastness, such faithfulness! Your track record is proven and perfect. While man may go back on his word a million times, You never will, not once. While our love is failing and unfaithful, Your love for us never fails. You are faithful to love us to the end.

You are not like us Lord, and our only hope is that we will become like You. I pray that what is true of You, will be true of me and true of Your Church. By the working of Your Spirit in us may we become faithful servants to You and to those around us. I pray we will learn to faithfully steward the gifts and the talents, and the gospel that You have given to us. I pray we will be a people marked by faithfulness.

I pray that in Your faithfulness You will restore our families. Repair what we have broken, heal us and free us from the bondages that continue to harm us. I pray for my children, my grandchildren, and the generations that will come, that by Your Spirit, they will be faithful and passionate followers of Christ. I thank You Father, that Your faithfulness endures through the generations and that, should You tarry, my great-great grandchildren and their children will know Your faithfulness as I have known it!

In the Name of Jesus. Amen.
